I get through cans of compressed quite quickly so i was wondering if there are any good alternatives out there that i can use for cleaning (preferably reusable).
Lol yeh it is the obvious answer i guess. I've had a look at compressors though before on the bay and have no idea which is the best to use for cleaning
I use, when my compressed air runs out that is, a handpump from Jessops. There around £5-7 and work well. Its only a backup for me but its always done the job. Just takes a small while longer then the compressed air.
I have used a hairdryer! Set on cold with the pc turned off and avoiding touching anything just in case of static. Worked fine but I'm sure someone will tell me off!
Hoover's are are fine once you've dislodged the dust but its getting the dust out of the nooks in the firstplace which is the issue.
I'm sure you could get some sort of little pump things that people use to clean their camera sensors, strap a straw to the end of that and you could be on to a winner.
As a couple of astute previous posters have mentioned, a hoover or hairdryer on cold are probably the most readily accessible and sensible tools to use.
