What? Gladiator came out over 10 years ago?

I thought something similar when I walked past my old primary school a few weeks ago and noticed an old Doritos crisp packet in the undergrowth that had been left for some time. The best before date could just be made out: "Mar 1997"!

It had been there so long that it could well have been one that I had in Year 6 (I'm 24 now), although it wouldn't have been as I was a good boy and never littered.

It did amaze me though, to think that John Major was still in power when that crisp packet was dropped. Princess Di was still with us, I didn't have a PC, didn't know anyone with a mobile, had never used the internet. Really made me realise how much I'd done in such a relatively small space of time, actually (13 years).

10 years and i still havnt seen gladiator :D

Still remember princess diana dieing, worst day ever for cancelling cartoons till tintin came on at about 10am on channel 4 (still remember my dad ring up the bbc to complain his license fee was being wasted on broadcasting the same bloody thing on 2 channels, legend)

If Back To The Future was made today, with the same jump back in time as in the original, they would go back to 1980!

HELP!!! I'm very close to death!

I feel old when I think Star Wars Episode I is 11 years old. I remember going to the cinema to see it when I was eight, and getting it on VHS for my ninth birthday.

Only the other day I found myself looking up old kids programs on YouTube, that was bad enough, now I’m reading through this I feel so old. I’m going to be 27 this year, and going by the average age of death, I’m about 1/3 of the way through my life :(

I have a little chuckle at the young 20 somethings in this thread going all  at their age. It's when you crash through 30 that time really steps on the accelerator, and you start looking at your hairline in the mirror hoping you're imagining things... :D

I was watching that Radio 1 breakfast show thing on BBC 2 last night, which despite Chris Moyles was oddly entertaining, but... Wonderwall, 15 years ago. World in Motion, 20 years ago. Never Gonna Give You Up, 23 years ago. :(

I must admit, I felt very old today. There I was walking my dog, in my trackies, and these two young school boys where repeatedly kicking a gate to make a loud banging noise! They saw me, and then I heard one of them say "come on, lets go! That man might say something.". I am no man, I am 27! I am boy, I wear trackies occasionally still. Allbeit, to sit around the house and walk the dog. *insert shaking fist here!

I'm 23. I know the oldies probably think this is young but I do feel quite old. I think mid-to-late 20s you are still socialising within the youth culture. So now you're up at the latter end of the scale you feel a lot older than the youngsters out around you. I've just finished uni but am mates with a lot of 1st years who are 18 etc. The age difference does make me feel old but on the grand scheme of things I'm probably not.

I get to the wrong side of my twenties next month :(

Twin towers that long ago.... I remember it coming over the news like it was last year.

I turn 30 in under 2 weeks - was depressed enough about it before coming into this thread :(

Ditto, 30 on the 20th of May, and I've been feeling the same, where the hell does the time go, LOTR seems like a few years like 2 but not 10!!!

Don't feel like I've progressed much in life, earn enough to replace my gadgets and car every now and then but not that much else!
