Churning butter ultras for the lose :p

i must admit i played like a noob today, spamming the condor dive and chessey ultra. i must say i could perform and 720 ultras much better with a stick, but i still couldnt believe the number of the times that landed(focus backdashing double lp, lk to air reset, so i can get a 360, or super or ultra in. it works quite well, but i doubt that would work offline).

Not bad dan, but remember that you shouldn't just jump and press any button, wait to see what your opponent does.

I don't know what beats your dive, I'll find out with 2 mins in training now though (I know something beats it clean every time) and your random moves won't do so well next time :p

You never did that combo on me though, your longest string was 2 hits with thawk.
 
Unnnnghh, I've no idea how to take on charge characters with Makoto yet. Everytime I go in (admitadly fairly obviously) they have a really good AA ready. Your jumpins on me stuffed every move I tried, all the DP style ones, her really good normal AA's as well. I've no idea how to cope with it yet and it's the same as what happened against Margs Bison.
 
Stop jumping, although DeeJay has very poor AA compared to most charge characters (blanka, balrog, guile are better, he's on par with chun and bison).

Block my jumps and punish.

hyv, you need a mic as people without seem to get left out of games eventually.

I'm starting to like DeeJay, I think it's time to start learning his mixups, spacing, strategy and combo's as I still have no idea what I'm doing other than zoning and abusing the online play.

makoto got no decent anti air. your best bet is s.mk or c.hk with you are very close, or vertical jump hk if they jump from far away.

i just brought one for £8. i should get it very shortly. just beware of my whining and swearing lol

Dee Jay's up-kick anti air is really good. I tried it in training mode a few days back - Ryu vs Ryu, recorded a safe jump after knockdown, beats wakeup EVERY time except against EX srk (beats normal srk). Used the same recording against Dee Jay, and his LK/MK upkicks beats the safe jump.
My only gripe about it is that it needs charge. Can't anti-air without it.
 
For the first time really since getting Super I had an awesome session earlier in Endless battle mode with 3 other guys. One is on my list and he invited me and he also invited 2 others who I've never played before. I played against a v good Dudley, Cody, Juri and Abel. No one dominated but each of us managed small winning streaks and every game was pretty much neck and neck. Also it was enjoyable watching the games too as they were so close!

The Dudley player certainly gave me a lot to think about for the upcoming tourny... :)

Ryu's safe jump doesn't get beaten by up kicks. If you do it right (2 frame window after an untechable knockdown, which you can obviously abuse in training mode) then the fp whiffs and Ryu is safe, just like Balrogs.

but the thing is, like hakan, t. hawk have no combo! the best i could do is 6 hits! which is j. hp> s.lp> s.mp> ex condor spire> ex tomahawk buster> ex condor dive, not a great return for 3 ex bars. i rather randomly poking and tick throw people with my command grab. but i got to say, that dive is pretty safe, i havent been punished often on block yet.

EDIT: oh right that combo was basically focus absorbing a jump attack and back dashing right after, if they go for a hit confirm (basically lp or lk), i get hit and get an air reset (because hawk is in the air while back dash), if they follow up or move forward, which most people will, they will get hit by my command throw (i usually start buffering while reseting, and press the button as soon as they get close). i calling it "taking a punch in the face to land a ultra", but obviously if they sweep, then i am screwed :(

I've found the 2 moves to always stuff the air dive :)

lk upkicks on reaction, lk/ex dreads for the knockdown on any blocked dive, ultra 1 and walk forward ultra 2 :)

It's ambiguous crossups on wakeup he's struggling with.

Yeah he was doing a lot of crossing up or jumping in very deep with jab hit confirms on land, stuffed everything I was trying and I'm not too hot with dashing and FADCing out of them yet. I've learnt some bad habits from mainly playing the same friends off-line or relying on Gouken's kongo online. I only made it to G2A on the PC SF4.
