You must've missed the adverts of the guy on a rollercoaster going in to work and picking up his coffee showing off the contactless payment then - looks like a lot of fun really, at least the rollercoaster bit of it.
I'm not convinced that contactless payments are a particularly good idea yet, I can appreciate for certain circumstances they work well but there's something about them that makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. I know that the RFID chips used usually have a very short range (a couple of cm or so) but the idea of transmitting data for payment or any other information about me even for short distances doesn't sit too well with me.
Barclays sent me a letter saying I was getting a contactless card when mine expires.
Not particularly happy with it as security is important to me, but I can see where it would come in handy at the supermarket (I buy lunch there everyday).
