Yes, the scouser was an embarassing cringeworthy idiot, a real mouthy gypo and rude to boot. He spouted so much rubbish that I was actually annoyed at one point.
When Derren did a 'reading' on the Hollioaks bird and pretty much nailed it, he started complaining that Derren didn't deal in facts
. It then later transpired that Joe Power's driver had seen the girl pull up in her Mini Cooper right next to Joe, that Joe claimed to have been told she drove by the spirits.
Joe raged about Derren seeing that woman beforehand as though it somehow weakened his reading, even though Derren Brown had admitted to his face that he'd already met her that day.
It was a classic case of the genius vs. the scammer and it just reinforces to me how thick the people are that believe this tripe.

It made me so annoyed at points. The "medium" came up with so many excuses as to why he couldn't answer every question and how he couldn't be tested etc. It was so stupid that he was going on about scammers when he is one himself. He's such a hippocrite (sp?)!!
Missed the first 20 mins but the so called "medium" was a complete tool indeed.
Excuse was pretty much that you can prove he isn't for real so therefore he is. Derran made him look like a complete idiot and he didn't like it.
His little "I need to go to the loo before I see this woman" obviously wasn't to try get a quick look round the house for clues at all

Seemed legit at the start, but Derren slowly took him apart.
Was the "I need to go to the loo before I start the reading" just a way of looking for pictures of relatives?

To be fair I thought Derren was pretty reasonable about it, he never had a proper go at the guy until nearer the end after the guy threw a few hissy fits and couldn't get any answers.
The toilet thing was funny, but I don't know if anyone else picked up on him saying 'one of 5' and 'jimmy or james' both at the audience performance and to the woman. It was like they were the most common answers that he went back to. Then at the end when you find out the first woman was his siters neighbour and he never realised, lol yeah right

Yes they are - there is no measurable way of communicating with the dead, and if there was, cold reading would take a swift nose dive.

Loved the show, love how he tries to dig himself out of the holes when he never got his "hits".
I watched a show by Derren before where he went undercover into a group of mediums and he did a reading to a big group. He made a few people cry during it and was saying how bad he felt for it. The whole church said he was the best medium they have seen.
Obviously Derren said before hand to the viewer that he is just going to cold read them amongst other techniques.

yea i agree, im related to a medium (that is really good) and i am a massive skeptic i love what derren does and belive him but some things that good mediums can tell you and do you just cant work out or prove. If you havent seen it you wont believe.
i do think they cold read, some things can relate to anyone etc
