Easiest way to transfre music onto HTC hero?

The syncing software should be on the memory card.

You don't need to sync with your phone to copy music across, it appears as a removable disk which you drag and drop the music files onto.

for some reason windows does'nt automatically find the phone when i plug it in.
Have you mounted it? Surely the easiest way is just to copy and paste the music from Windows on to the phone?
I agree the easiste option would be to copy the music over IF windows recognised the phone when I plugged it in which it does'nt. When you say mount it in what sense do you mean, not like an image mount.
When you plug the phone in to your computer, you should get a popup in the notification bar on the phone that says something about mounting the SD card for computer access - do this. Then the phone releases the SD card to the PC and you can stick whatever you want on it.
The popup appears on the phone; you don't need to do anything on the PC. Has worked fine on both my Win7 64-bit computers using both an HTC Magic and Google Nexus; I've never had any trouble
Unless it's some bizarre Hero thing.
