If you get a 5770 and quietness is important to you get one with an egg cooler or bat mobile style are quieter than the leaf blower one as above.

Oh also, does any1 else have an issue at startup where the graphics card sounds like its fannying about a bit and takes ages to boot? Im really hoping its just me so I can mayB fix it with some wizardry.

Go into ATI catalys control and click the drop down box in top left of the window. Go to overdrive and click the box with the padlock on it. now you can overclock it too!

OMG!! So true. It was like drying my hair!

Why does it do that anyway? Is there some solution?

Yeah the solution is leave it at 40% or mayB 45% if you dnt mind the sound it makes. I have the same make and model and have done some playing and it seems to run cool enough for me. From what I hear the 4870 ran at about 70C if not higher. This card overclocked is around those temps so at stock u have nothing to worry about.
And seriously any1 that can help with the start-up issue im having I would greatly appreciate it.

I have an egg cooler one and leave it at 50% fan which is quite quiet and gaming load stays around 50-55c.
