Activision lost my business a long while ago. Money-grabbing little *****! :P Valve have always had my respect however, and things like this just prove why they deserve it from everyone.
 
I have to :rolleyes: at some of the people on the Steam forums who paid for Portal and are now looking for refunds/free levels/a free game because Valve are giving it away.
 
Lol, brilliant. I also saw the subtle confirmation that Portal 2 is on the way.

That advert is surely the envy of Carlsberg adverts everywhere. Its completely unrelated to the product but still lets you know wtf is going on throughout, unlike Carlsberg :p
 
What a fantastic free gift by Valve. I was bemoaning Steam and their prices only a few weeks back, and I now feel a little guilty about that..

Just downloaded my copy, as a way to say thanks to Valve, and to support Steam, I'll buy my next couple of games (no matter if they are cheaper elsewhere) on Steam only. Even though they won't know I've done this, I'll feel good about it.... Any company that can give a game away for free is all good in my books...

Never played Portal, can honestly say its a rather good game, and for free, well its even better..!!

Nice one... just been a great week so far for me.
 
Wow can't believe I've never played this before, its pretty amazing, completed the first mission, training / escape, great fun and ll for free, <3 valve / value
 
Not a bad idea by Valve, it's certainly going to get everyone hooked and increase the hype for Portal 2.

Don't forget when you complete Portal (1), that there is also the Portal Flash Version Map Pack/Storyline AND Portal Prelude to keep you occupied, both great fun and a proper storyline (despite Microsoft Sam voice! :p)
 
i've never played this before today and i'm hooked on the thing on the last level according to google but did notice bonus missions and acheivements to do.

it kinda makes my head hurt tho especially when you enter a floor portal and end up upside down while rotating and going forwards at the same time.

gr8 game even better that it was free :)
 
hmmm downloaded this yesterday along with several other titles (civ iv pack and lucas arts pack)

great game and fantastic value for money for the next fortnight!
