Yep...another spec me thread...budget ~£6k

It's pretty torquey your engine, at higher speeds (past about 70-80mph) where wind resistance and such come into play, I start losing ground to heavier but more powerful stuff like your car and Westy's Saab. No problem at lower speeds though ;)

Yeah mate wasn't having a dig at your car! Simply saying people assume 1.4 Fiat = lolwagon.

Yeah I've never offered rides and just assumed people would rather spend time in the Evo's, E55's and S3's we've had at meets, anyones free for a ride and poke about. Certainly value for money has been good though. I'm looking to sell mine for about £6.5k-£7k in the summer and only paid £8k. So that will mean it will have lost about £1.5k in 20months.

Insurance group 10 has helped with me only being 20, quicker than a GTi yet only £480 to insure for this year. In straight line I was slightly quicker than the latest Type R as well but in the corners he had me cause of my ditchfinder tyres.

Not had any reliability issues with mine, only warrenty work I've had done was the gearstick had the logo facing the wrong way but I bought it like that. Mums has had no work done to it and we've put about 10k on both cars.

I think something along the lines of a Focus Titanium / Fiat Bravo seems the way forward.

What are the servicing intervals / costs like on the Bravo?

18,000 miles on all engines or 12 months. I got my second service done for £130 by calling up 3 different dealers on my lunch break. Mum just took it to the closest Fiat dealer and was charged £180.

Go to a main dealer and just test drive a 1.4Tjet 150 Dynamic, there hasn't been a facelift yet and it's the easiest way to get a proper test drive. If you like it/prefer it over the Focus etc then start looking on AT.

If you are near me at anypoint like I said feel free to come for a ride in mine as it does feel pretty quick with 180bhp compared to the 2.0 Focus my friend has.

Where about are you based?

Been looking at a few for sale, must admit the interiors are a lot more pleasing to the eye than the focus.

Surrey, so quite a distance for you I'd imagine. Main reason my mum liked the Bravo so much is the interior.

Well...didnt end up with a bravo, however opted for a Grande Punto (shock horror!)

Went for a 1.9 Multijet Sporting.

All weekend I test drove various cars, and found the punto a much nicer drive than a focus, the interior was so much nicer & the equipment list was much greater, plus I love the blue&me!

£6700
56 Plate
12 Months MOT
12 Months Tax
Full Service & Valet before I collect
26k on clock
Full Tank Juice

Bit nervous about going into Fiat ownership, however was very impressed with the car and the main thing it was a car we both could agree on.

Photos to follow at the weekend when I collect.

Flame away!

Nearly £7000 on a 4 year old Punto?

Dude...

Your right, should have bought a 7 year old BMW.

As this was a car to suit myself and the girlfriend it was the compromise I had to take. I did have my heart set on a Mondeo ST220, however it was too 'big' for her in doors.

If it was a car just for myself, with me paying 100% for it then yes...I would have gone for something totally different.

I am happy, girlfriend is happy so happy days!
