Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

Another term for mix up / wake up game

Nope.

It's specific to the wake up situation, involving at least a 50-50 ambiguous (left/right, high/low), safe from DP, option to reset the opponent with an untechable knock down to cause a knock down guessing loop, getting the player sucked into the "vortex".

Cooking food, and not interested in playing the old characters when I'm in a new character only tournament.

:p It was the only win I 'might' have got in. I know what you are doing with DeeJay I just don't know how to counter it with Dudley atm. It's frustrating having no projectile! And don't get me started on that crossup, it's bloody hard to read!

Sorry Kreeeee for picking Ken - i couldnt suffer the embarassment of a perfect! lol. Thats the first i have seen of Deejay - really hard to read and looks like one of the stronger characters imo. Thanks for the games guys i need to get back into it :)

Adz i like how u went straight to Ryu after defeating your gouken :p the only time i have ever beaten you :)

DeeJay is firmly in the middle of the pack. It's easy to think a character is strong when a player beats you with them. Personally I struggle hugely with Vega but I know he's still bottom 3.

Adz, you already proved your Ryu thrashes my DeeJay, and since no new characters play like him there's no point in me playing against him.

I figured it out :D
(kinda :p)

On another note... one of the best rounds of SSF4 I have seen so far...

Love both the way Guile pressure plays and the way Dudley manages to get out of the pressure play but ultimately scums to the Sonic Hurricane.
Its ironic because had Guile not have sonic hurricane, flash explosion would not have killed him I reckon. Guile has definitely moved up the ranks I reckon, question is where is he now in the tiering system.

Incredible Guile.

Guile wasn't that low to begin with, about where DeeJay is now, so he'd be up with Honda and Blanka imo.

At the beginning yes you were able to cross me up continuously at least 3 times, but afterwards I was able to at least block your strings to once or twice max as I kinda figured out how your cross ups works, only problem is whether you dupe into a throw in which case I pray for a tech which leaves me with little alternatives, but I'm sure its not something thats difficult to figure out Kreeeee? (I mean the only thing that makes Deejays cross ups special is the difference between the punch and the kick (i.e. crossup vs non-crossup?)

Im winning games in SSF4 that I would not have won in SF4 imho (well when I say I shouldnt be winning I mean as in how bogged down Guile was in vanilla SF4 compared to now).

Guile FK and SB have had great buffs, and his normals are a lot better. Combine that with a usable Ultra and you have a great character.

He really wasn't that bad in SFIV though.

Oh yes absolutely, he was not bad in SF4, but everyone acknowledged that he has been so dumbed down compared to how he was in SF2 and its incarnations.

Which makes me a bit sad because I'll bet you now we'll see a resurgence of Guile players suddenly appear only because Daigo decided to select him in the first matchup again Justin Wong.

Its funny because a lot of people on here did not rate Guile in his SSF4 incarnation before the game came out or when it was being played by people who had access to the game prior to release, but Guiles options have opened up massively in Super and really answered Guile critics out there. I would probably say that Guile is definitely up there for Tier 1.

Do we know when there will be an official tier list released for SSF4?

There are never official tier lists.

Most of them are made by Americans who seem to be far from bright sparks when it comes to this kind of thing. The Japanese tournament results never track remotely near what the US tier lists suggest.

And as you know, I've always not followed tiering systems but I was curious to see if (by all accounts on what we have seen thusfar) has Guile improved according to the tier system (whatever that might be).

Oh he definitely has, no doubt about that.

And I didn't know, you seem to watch a lot of videos so I assumed you looked at eventhubs too.

Speaking of eventhubs, you seen the new frame data put together by Gilley?
Would love for someone to do a side by side comparison of the existing characters in SF4/SSF4 (I know the site has the values for SF4 at the bottom, but its a bit of a pain scrolling up and down etc. Have to cut and paste the values in excel or something.

and how did he get so much bp anyway? the game only been out for a week! someone must be play 27/7 since release

sonic boom sonic boom sonic boom sonic boom - still dont get why people rate ANY guile player as amazing, with the amount of spamming they all do. he left himself well open on a lot of plays also so i wouldnt say he was amazing in any way shape or form.
