**The Dragon Age Origins Thread **

It's a real shame that having completed this a few times I haven't been compelled to go back to it.

Did it once, and I don't see myself going through it all again. I think it's cos the class choices and prestige classes were a bit naff. Half the fun of BG2 was trying out different dual and multi-classes, but with DA it's just not as well developed.

Agreed, I played BG2/NWN through so many times because of the variety.

I started a second playthough and stopped about 20% in. Without the interest of the story, and the limitations in team selection due to a small party just put me off really.

I'm dissapointed, seeing as I've played BG2 through countless times.

Indeed, the classes were a joke tbh that had next to no real influence other than a few skills that while helpful didn't really offer variety or in-depth class development.

Instead of allowing 2 specialisation points both of which have a grand total of 4 skills each they should've given 1 and gone far more in depth with it. Its a sad state when the game needs mods to make some of them even remotely decent (*cough* Shapeshifter *cough*) when they could've been an entirely different and awesome playstyle.

Well I got this, it's fantastic, with a few minor flaws. I found it bloody hard to begin with starting on hard with a mage... Fud.

So restarted with a dwarven warrior noble, i enjoyed that starting story line. Finished the game in 36 hours with him. Still feel like i've got a lot more to do thankfully. I think I'll be making an elven mage/arcane warrior after my rogue though.

Good story, if a little generic. I find the mini-stories/side quests provide a better experience than the main one, oddly. Such as the "Urn" and just certain conversation there in.

Get a 7 from me. :)

I only played though half of it ages ago and got bored :(

It was great at first, but still not as good as BG1 / BG2, which I can load up and play through beginning to end enjoying every minute again and again.

I just love soloing through BG with a Gnome Illusionist / Ceric (mod to deactivate traps). Its hella fun, I love all the spells so much, and the epic mage vs mage fights.

I dont think you can solo the big bad nasty thing at the bottom of watchers tower though.

I wish there could be a remake of the Baldurs Gate series, with absolutely nothing changed but better graphics. But everytime they make something new, they change it too much and make it more and more simple.

I think there are still quite a few things in the BG series that I've never beaten, even with a full party. I think I gave up on the watcher's tower boss, and I don't think I've ever managed Kangaxx or whatever his name was.

There was also a door in BG2 that led you to a room in another plane full of really nasty mobs - I seem to remember a beholder, mind flayer and a load of other stuff before getting annihilated :)

I think Kangaxx or whatever his name is makes an appearance in this game.

i just started playing again and i've got a question. last time i completed it without doing many side missions this time i want to them all, but will the missions from the crows or slim couldry affect my game in a negative way. I'm playing as a good guy, i already took quests from the blackstone irregulars and the mages collective just wanted to know if i could accept the crows mission to get the top poisons without messing up my game.

Certain party member will disapprove of what you do, that is all, even then I think it's just how you react to the conversations. Nothing game breaking, unless you make it so a member leaves. :p Just gift them every now and again.

Huh? The point is its an RPG. If you *really* want to play a good guy you probably shouldn't be taking quests from the Crows who want you to assassinate people. Slim you don't have to kill anyone so meh. But the Crows you have the option to refuse. And technically they rationalise it anyway that someone will kill em so it may aswell be you. I don't think they have any impact on the storyline at all.
