Hi guys, Looks like Dell are releasing some new IPS based monitors, the Ultrasharp U2211H and Ultrasharp U2311H.
The specs so far seem to be:
Resolution - 1920x1080 (16:9)
Panel Type - IPS [I'm betting eIPS]
Contrast Ratio: 1000 to 1 (typical), 10,000:1 (dynamic)
Brightness - 250 cd/m2 (typical)
Response Time -8ms (gray to gray)
Viewing Angle - (178° vertical / 178° horizontal)
Color Gamut - 82% (100% sRGB coverage)
Color Depth - 16.7 million colours
Video Connectors - DVI-D, VGA, Displayport
To me this looks pretty good, and according to this they are going to be rather well priced, hopefully the UK gets them at a reasonable prices.
One thing that does strike me is the Display port connection. It means you can get an IPS, 3 monitor eyefinity setup for a price that won't need you to sell a kidney (and no requirement for an active DP adapter).
I look forward to some reviews and UK pricing of these, perhaps it will tempt some people in from the TN cold. If they (the 23in specifically) are as nice as the 2209WA then I may need to purchase some myself
