BF:bc2 help plz

Obviously vsync aint working because if it was your fps would be tied to the hz of your monitor normally 60....personally i dont know how anybody can play without vsync in any game...if you have an nvidia card you can use nhancer to lock the vsync properly, dont know what u can do with ati cards.

my monitor is 120hz and i get 120fps with vsync on. it doesnt work stright away in bc2 i have to change my res when entering the game, otherwise fps stays uncapped and ranges from 90-200+ , either the game wont run over 200 fps or fraps wont show it but that seems to be the limit

The bobbing is unavoidable as far as I'm aware, and to disable it would probably be considered cheating anyway. It's part of that realism factor. If you want to drop one setting, I recommend shadows. Medium and high make little difference so try dropping it to low. Or try disabling hbao as it is a bit of a performance hit. Personally, I think you'd benefit from the eye candy more than a few extra frames when you already have very good fps, and regardless of framerates, you're still going to be affected by lag etc that will make your gameplay less smooth anyway.

The head bob is part of the game.

You won't notice it after a while. I stopped playing for about a week and when i restarted it was very noticable for a day or so but then you forget it.

i already had habo off, il try with low shadows and see how we go, shame about the bobbing though :(

to answer the question of 'fps-vision' it is perfectly possible to see faster FPS then 60, the reason that most think its not possible to see over 60 is because their monitor is set to 60hz so it is only outputting a maximum 60 fps (no matter what FRAPS is telling you, that is only reading the output from the graphics card not how many frames your monitor is showing you)

I'm finding that I have to run it in DX9 Mode, have shadows on low and turn AF to 4X to get about 50+ FPS. Dips in the 40's sometimes when there's a lot going on.

Is this about right? I know the 4850 isn't the best of cards these days.
