Hire car for a trip to Scotland.

Bit of fun nothing serious, work trip in 2 weeks, got in touch with the hire company and sorted everything, they asked if I wanted a 10 plate Ford Focus Zetec 2.0 TDCi or a 10 plate VW Golf SE 2.0 TDI (the best in the band). Never driven either, going to spend most of the weekend in it so which one shall I go for? Or which one is worse than the other as this will probably descend into.

I'm open, the manager said I can take either come Monday morning. Shame they didn't have the new Astra, would have taken that to see what it's like after the rave reviews.

Depends where in Scotland he's going - anything more than a few miles north of the border and there are some nice twisties
