Apple mac for webdesign, should i go for the 27" or the 21" Quad core or not Quad core?

Runnings Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator etc etc

Go for the best you can get regardless of what your intended purpose is for it, especially when buying Apple computers. You'll want it to last longer, right?

I have the base 21.5" which runs CS4 very well. My only criticism is that the screen can feel a little cramped if I have multiple windows open.

For normal day to day stuff though like web browsing, email, iTunes etc it's plenty big enough for me (previous machine 15" laptop).

As above, buy the best you can afford - or rather, can justify spending....

You can't get the Quad in the 21.5 inch mate.

If you budget fits it get the i5, it'll last you longer. Biggest screen you can lay hands on is what you want for design too. I think the price for the i5 is very good anyway.

I'd take a 27" anyday.

This, also the i5/i7 isn't in the 21.5" one.

I have the 27" and the screen estate alone is worth the price on entry. I added a Dell 22" TFT via the displayport out.

Using Final Cut Studio in this configuration is a dream. So much so that when I upgrade to one of the 6-Core Mac Pro's later this year I'll probably use the 27" iMac as one of the screens for the Pro.

May I also point out that CS5 is 64bit, so even if you update the iMac now it's worth getting CS5 for the extra speed (later on)

CS4 is a bag of nails. On the Mac Pro at work it simply doesn't take advantage of the hardware. Looking forward to when we get CS5 on it. Finally Adobe have written it in Coca!
