After years with no website...

I will continually be working on it, yes but what's wrong with it? Works fine on Safari, FF and IE. You'll find an updated version on my homepage.

When you click on the hello in the box a line appears going down on the left side of the box which nearly torches the first link.

That was a styling issue which only appeared after I tested the site in Firefox. If you click the link in my signature, it should be gone? I hope so anyway. :) Thanks for the heads up though.

Nope still happening in fire fox tried in explore and as you say ok.

I would add that I did these things:

1. Landed, clicked Sketchbook
2. Had a bit of a scroll down
3. Clicked Selected Work
4. Found myself still scrolled halfway down this page

So it'd probably be nice to load each page at the top when you click it. Don't remember how to do this with JS off the top of my head, but it'd be an improvement :)

P.S. You rock as an artist

Hehe ^ ;)

I know :p I shall find a fix for it and hopefully get it sorted tonight. :)

and thank you! :D

It's still weird hearing people comment my work, I haven't had any online for years.

Apologies for bumping an old thread but I'm finally getting round to pushing the site further. One small issue is winding me up insanely, though!

If you look at the About page first then try to click on Selected Work or Sketchbook afterwards, the content from these sections load half way down the About page with a very bumpy transition. However, if you look at Selected Work and then Sketchbook afterwards, the transitions are completely fine and load without issue.

Any ideas? I've tried altering the mark-up and CSS but I can't find a solution.

Hi Ryan,

Nice work, I must say and nice portfolio as well. With the kind of work you have shared I don't think that you need much content to describe about your website , but since your landing page is not your 'portfolio/work' page it would be a great help for the visitors to have an idea of what your website is all about.

I feel that you should keep some text on your landing page. Also, I am sure that being from a design community you are aware of seo. from seo perspective I would say that your site needs much work. YOu need to set your meta descriptions, title tags, your url structure, obviously content part, and internal linking.

I'm getting a horizontal scrollbar on a 1024x768 resolution (still quite common).

Thanks for the comments. I think the only way forward may be to have an image showcasing thumbnails of certain work.

I didn't think search engines gave much attention to meta anymore, instead focusing on content? I could be completely wrong of course but I agree, it is better to have them and I shall write some up. :) Could you possible expand on the other SEO points you brought up for example, URL structure?

I saw this when I first tested the website. Do you find it's an issue? I didn't see any decent solution, unless I float the content to the right of the browser?

It's an annoying issue for people using 1024x768. The layout just behaves plain weird at that resolution.

I would recommend looking at other peoples' photo gallery websites for a more suitable layout.

The load time is also very slow because you're loading everything on all your sub-pages in one go. Your page size is 11MB which is quite excessive for one page.
