**Alan Wake Review*****

Wow just taken a break from having a quick bash and it's excellent. Not sure I'm a fan of the episodic thing but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Graphics are fantastic in my opinion and I'm already hooked on the storyline.

Anyone wondering where the Themes and the Avatar clothing is; you have to install the themes from the bonus disc and install the video commentry as well for the jacket/scalf. You then have to start up alan wake and go into options and set video commentry to on, you should then get an avatar award.

Right well for some odd reason gameplay have sent me some codes but i never pre-ordered or even ordered the game lol.

Says something about 3 codes for the bright falls pack...ones a mens t shirt, a womans t shirt and an exclusive theme...i guess the tshirts are for the avatars on the 360.

Anyhow if anyone wants them then send me an email to my trust email and ill email the codes over to you...first come first served and its only one set of 3 codes.

am a little disapointed so far with this, didnt think it would be quite so linear as it is, also not finding the gunplay all that exciting unlike max payne.

hopefully the third episode takes me out of the forest, as its getting a little repetative now.

enjoying the story a whole lot though

I wouldnt mind, sent to trust...not sure if too late :(

Got the Limited Edition of this, it's the most pleased I've been with a limited edition in a while to be honest, I don't normally buy them but this has a real quality feel to it.

Just starting the third chapter now, reservations about the linearity of it but I'm enjoying the story and visuals a lot so far.

Really enjoying the game so far, it's really long if you take the time to search for the hidden stuff (which I have). You can clearly tell the production values are really decent here and in my opinion the wait was worth it. The graphics are excellent at times, the odd average texture here and there but in general they are great. Gameplay wise it's simple yet fun, but there are a few niggles, the running element is pretty dire, you could clearly run further than this game allows, also the dodge feature does not work half the time so you end up being pinned into a corner and getting butchered to death. I'm currently on Episode 5 and I don't want it to end, if they can patch the dodge ability so it works most of the time then I'll be even happier. It's going to be a good month for games!

This gets better and better.

What a game. They've created something really great here, very much story/character driven but the gameplay is fun too. It's enthralling.

This is what makes great games: the story, the characters. Amazing.

Remedy really know how to make a good game.

Totally recommend it. I prefer it to the first Uncharted and it's very close to Uncharted 2 for story/characters.

I must be in the minority the game has no atmosphere whatsoever in my opinion. Aye, the graphics are decent but the game play mechanics are terrible and have tried three or four times to get into this game but it just isn't for me.

All you do is walk around wait for some bloke with an axe to try and attack you, put the flashlight on him and shoot him. Rinse and repeat.

Very disappointed, considering the game play mechanics that were in Max Payne were made by the same developer and it seems a lot more involving and enjoyable.

Have to say though, Alan Wake is one miserable b'tard!

Superb survival horror game :D

Very polished & Remedy have used their technical expertise to extract the most out of the 360 hardware

Shame no PC version yet as that would not have the screen tearing which is everpresent but I would guess it will definately now be made on PC to maximise sales & possible out by xmas 2010 at the very latest if not late autumn as Intel co-sponsored the tech on this 4 years ago as a Quad Core showcase it probably already has most of the code for PC just needs tweaking & optimising for the newest gfx cards & then it will be ready ;)

I picked this up earlier - traded in CoD:MW2 + Assassins Creed for £23 (they gave an extra £5 if getting Alan Wake) :)

Also got Darksiders 2nd hand.

Will give it a bash later!

Sank a few more hours into it, and probably enjoying it even less now, there is just no gameplay to it.

Easily the most disapointed ive been with a game in a long time, although maybe my expectations were a little high.

I remember playing Luigi's Mansion about ten years ago on the Gamecube, and this is just the same game but in 3D

Shame....

I was really enjoying this and was expecting a brilliant ending but it just ended up as a huge wtf from me, The last episode or 2 were just getting tedious, Glad I played it but wouldn't bother going through again, 6.5/10 from me

Wish I had read the IGN before getting this game. Like Biocrock 1, the hype made me get it. I'm still at the early stages of the game on Eps 2 heading to lovers peak.

I just finished it, and I really enjoyed the game. I thought the story was good and I liked the TV style episodes. I never actually followed any of the hype about this game so I took it for what it was and without expectations. If i was to score it, I'd give it 8.5/10 and a little higher for the LE packaging.

Roll on some DLC for it :)
