My own head
While installing my SSD I just realised that the front 180mm intake for my Silverstone has blown itself apart. Not sure how it happened but I did hear a bang the other week, so I think somehow the fan blade came off the motor head and then hit the struts causing it to tear itself apart!

Only a year old case... but I'd like a replacement ASAP as it cools 4 hard drives. Any 180mm suggestions will be welcome, I know OcUK doesn't stock a great deal.

Unless for some reason your hard disks run VERY warm, you have no need to cool hard drives. In fact, research carried out recently suggested that running hard drives cooler leads to an increased failure rate! (don't have the link around any more, check on google)

Still, I'm sure the fan helps cool your other hardware too... :P

Yeh... but if you know this case, I have 3/4 HDD stacked on top of each other in the HDD bays... and sometimes temps can reach 50-70c without a fan... hence my worry of losing 2TB of data :p.

Doesn't help that it is my main intake (also have a kama bay) and 2 4890s isn't actually the most planet friendly combo in terms of heat generation!

It has also been proven that harddrives can overheat and cause datalose and drive failure

I can't think of any other 180mm fans unfortunatly, but your case (assuming FT01) will have mounting points for a 120mm fan, so a good one of those should match the standard Silverstone fan

Now I see where you're coming from... :P

I have 2 HDDs in the bottom compartment of my Antec P180 and they don't have a fan running on them (apart from the PSU fan pulling air through the bottom compartment), and they barely generate any heat at all really. I think mine run around 30-40 degrees (speedfan is being confusing), which is supposed to be the optimum temperature according to that thing I read a while ago...
