Lucky Brit Scoops Highest UK Lottery Win

I'd buy each of my immediate family members and closest friends a house each, 500k limit on each one. If any of them go "is that it" then they can get stuffed and they won't get a house :)

Sort of the same...well pay off mortgages and see if they wanted a nicer house. Wouldn't let them quit work or anything...well a part from my parents if they wanted to. Give money to my cousin to help start his own business, give money to my other cousin to put her son and step son through uni etc when the grow up. Usual stuff like cars for parents and brother etc etc.

Not sure about Charity money, depends on how much use they would get out of it.

Own my local football team, probably buy Wrexham as well, invest in something that's going to give me a big nice steady income that would go towards something. Travel, big houses, cars, find a hobby or something that would keep me occupied that I could do when ever I wanted and wouldn't get bored.

Etc etc

buy a ticket to vegas and put the whole lot on red, then if u were truely meant to have this money you now have £160mil if not, at least you'll get a few free nights in the vip suite :P

If you won that amount, how would you go about making sure its safe? Banks only guarantee £50,000 under the FSCS.

Just something ive been wondering about and its semi related :p

I would pay for my own Harvard/Henley business course. I'd then use the money to make more money.

I would buy two houses or a flat and a house, two cars - one discrete and one less so. I have my picture of a dream house - not massive but very family orientated. It has has it's own vineyard on the slopes. So possibly italy or france. The flat would be in the heart of business land.

To be honest - good on the fella/girl. Just don't waste the opportunity.

If you've got that much money you'd be an idiot to put it in one account :p

Although I'd guess offshore banks which all the drug dealers use etc could guarantee more than 50k :p

things to do with a lottery win :

1. Tell work to shove it up their crack in loud public fashion in front of everyone

2. go shopping!

3. get drunk!

the national lottery will only pay your winnings (jackpot) into certain banks, I think it's Coutts or one other. I can't find anything to suggest it's true but I'd imagine they guarantee your funds to a greater amount.

I guess :p

But they are also known to be extremely selective in whom they accept as customers, allegedly refusing to take former glamour model Katie Price (aka 'Jordan') as a client, in spite of her being worth an estimated £30 million (US$48million).

Id love to walk into a bank with a cheque for a few million. It can be hard to get an account at some banks with the amount of hoops you need to jump through, with a cheque for that much id imagine you could walk in and come out with an account and a feeling like you just had an enema via tongue.

So the winner still has not come forward then?

I've been asleep for a few hours and had a dream that I did win and showed my dad who spotted an error in the ticket so I didn't win.

I still don't want to check the ticket yet!!!

I hate checking my tickets especially when i hear that a winner has not come forward. You get thinking maybe maybe maybe..then end up punting the cat out the window.

What if you don't have a cat?

I might need to find a cat tomorrow when I check!

Also you'd never tell anyone on the internets that you won especially if you refused to go public - too many chumps out there looking to make a quick buck selling it to the DailyFail!

A nice, big house in the Hollywood Hills, with a penthouse in Vegas for the weekends. Awesome.

Not in a million years would I ever go public with it. Stupidly crazy idea.

Just imagine gaining all that money in one day . I didnt even get one number :o

On the plus side, I did win £61 tonight on Lotto :D
