I'm thinking of changing my 8800gtx which has been a great card.
I want to stay with nVidia and thinking of going for a GTX 275.

I play a fair amount of games, mainly Source (L4D2 etc), but I'd like to be able to play any future games I like the look of too.

Resolution is 1920x1200 and I normally have medium/some high settings with a bit of AA.

Would it be worthwhile going from my 8800gtx to a GTX 275?
Also, how does the 275 compare to a GTX 280?

Thanks :)

Overclock the the 275 and you'll have SLi 8800GTX performance. As its an EOL product though, it depends on what price you can get one for. Best bet would be to sell your 8800GTX for around £40-£45 and buy second hand 275 for around £120-£130 which would make it a good value upgrade!

Not sure how you think im being sarcastic?

For £110 i would definitely buy it and like i said its a big improvement

I thought you could've been as you may of thought there wasn't much of an improvement and I should've probably known it. Thanks for your help :)

Well I went from the 8800GT in 2007 to the GTX 275 in 2009 to the GTX 470 in 2010 and it's more like a 80% fps increase to me in the games I play each upgrade.

P.S. I have a GTX 275 for sale, interested?
