As I've had my car for 3 months now I thought I'd do a bit of an update as I've made a few small changes.

BEFORE

Standard 17" bullet alloys with runflat tyres.

Standard chrome grilles and orange indicator bulbs

Standard stereo and crap plastic dash

AFTER

I've never been a huge chrome fan so the first thing I did was to lose the front grilles and replace them with the John Cooper Works versions. While I was on I fitted some black spotlights too and some silverstar bulbs.

I've never been in a car that had anything resembling a decent stereo as standard and the Mini is no exception so I ditched the standard stereo and replaced it with a nice Alpine X305S. I also got rid of the cheap and nasty plastic dash and replaced it with the JCW leather one which is much better looking. Finally I fitted a centre armrest (I'm driving to Luxembourg at the end of the month so it should come in handy for resting my weary left arm)

Next I ditched the horrible runflat tyres and heavy standard wheels and replaced them with a much lighter set of Team Dynamics 1.2s (7.9kg each) with Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tyres. Wow!, what a difference, the crashiness and tramlining has gone and so has most of the tyre noise. I also feel like I've got super light power steering.

My OMP lower brace should arrive later this week shortly followed by my Dave.F airbox. Pulley change and coilovers have to wait till my warranty has ran out but I think I'll maybe try and replace the speakers with something a bit better soon.

That's all, let the gay hairdresser jokes commence :)

Saw one just like yours at the Asda store near Patchway on Friday afternoon, wasn't you by any chance was it? - Around 3PM iirc. :)

Looks good anyway.

Loving everything apart from the alloys.

Never been a fan of black alloys. I think the standard ones are quite nice tbh.

Good job, like the black grill and dash, not sure about the wheels but looks like it could benefit from being lowered an inch or so, can you do that without ruining the ride/handling ?

Why do mini's have the speedometer in the middle of the dash and not behind the steering wheel like other cars? Is it annoying having to look in the middle to check your speed all the time?

I like what you did though, the grill looks better. Btw one of your fan blower covers is missing I think..

I think that looks quite smart, perhaps a tint to the side windows to complement the wheels?
And good for you for ditching the runflats - a shame they came as standard spec really.
Not keen on the arm-rest for the type of car, rip it out after your European trip! ;)

Wasn't me I'm afraid (unless somebody nicked my car without my knowledge)

That's the plan. Once the warranty runs out I'll change to coilvers. They're supposed to actually improve the ride so it's win win

There's a digital speedo display at the bottom of the rev counter so you don't have to look at the centre of the dash to see how fast you're going

ive got a friend who has a john coopers work's mini and it is stunning and goes like dog poo of a spade.

i personally think like all mini's and what you have done to your's is very subtle and tasteful.

Not a fan of the car in general but the black wheels and grill make a substantial difference. The dash also looks much better.

How much were the wheels out of interest?

May I suggest some Roundup for your gravel, at least for spring, and then a proper breathable matting solution underneath for next year?

Oh, and great new dash by the way :)
