My new pet

About the only bugs I'd willingly touch are grasshoppers

Well, depending on what Mantis you get you can feed it just on Crickets.

It's not suggested (from what I am reading, I'm certainly no expert :p) to feed them ONLY on mealworms, but it wont hurt them, and also depends on the type of Mantis it is.

Having kept snakes and lizards for 6-7years I had to get rid because of moving house and the landlord didn't want me keeping me ;( I wouldn't mind 1 or 2 of those ghosts. I'm working at the mo so could someone post some info as I cant browse outside of IT related forums.

price? size they get too? enclosure needed? any heat requirements ? I still have all my snake and lizard takes with ceramic heating but im guessing these are all way to big!

Just chucked 2 crickets in with one of mine and just looked to see how it was going and its got one in each arm and having a good munch on them both lol

After reading this thread and scouting around the net, my ghost turned up yesterday! :)

Have got a jar with some twigs set up for him and hes happily wandering around in there.. I'm amazed at how small he is, hes only about 1cm long! Have ordered some fruit flies for him and have been trying to catch some of my smaller cockroaches to stick in but they just seem to hide at the bottom of his jar and he can't see them!

I went to my local "exotic" petshop today and purchased two fruit fly cultures, both easily infinitely sustainable. Managed to get about 4 in with the ghost and he's currently eating one :p

Cant go wrong for a fiver! :D

Wow the color on him is awesome!

... Im very close to also buying a gecko now as well...think ive become slightly addicted with this exotic pet malarky :p

How can anyone keep one of these as a pet :x

I'd be terrified if I saw one of those and would squish it out of fear :(

OMG, this one is horrible!

looks cool though.

Both my congo's are a much lighter green overall than Harold, one even more so than the other with brown area's, side of abdomen is brown.

Hard to tell from the picture but I think they are a little older too, currently feeding on size 2 locusts. Not sure which instar they are though.

My 6 year old would love one of these. She is not afraid of bugs, creepy crawlies. But I think she would get upset if it eat the spiders/bugs she catches.

gonna take a ride over to reptile store near me so if they got any in stock! well want one! those ghosts are awesome!

I enjoyed a good look around the local exotic pet shop here, would have come out with a Snake or something had I not had the girlfriend with me, looking utterly terrified :D

The chap said he is getting some of these in next week -
