Gay breaks 200m WR

Yeah I know, was just joking.

I doubt anyone is going to catch Bolt for quite some time.

Just looking on Bolt's wiki page and he run the 150m in 14.35s with the last 100m ran in 8.7s

Yep, it's insane how fast he can run. That's around 25 mph if my maths is right.

It's mind boggling how faster he gets as he runs the distance. I honestly think he could do under 9 seconds on a straight 100m, I dare not imagine what he could do over 200m.

He is only 23 as well! Tyson Gay is 27 and look how faster he is compared to him. It's scary!

Did anyone see the program Johnson did with him on Saturday evening?

Bolt's technique is a bit shabby in places so God knows how fast he could be after a bit of work at Johnson's training facility.

why are people surprised by the second 100 metre or the 50-150m speed.

100m includes the start, of course taking the speed of any later 100m part without the slow start will be faster.

For the record they say Gays 50-150m time was 8.72, so incredibly close to Bolt there and he had a poor start so his overall time could certainly come down.

Because of the not starting thing his second 100m should be closer to a 8.7 time than the 9.5ish he ran the second 100metres in, shows he was definately slowing down towards the end, he looked tired(who wouldn't be).

Was a good performance from Gay IMO
If he can get everything to click in to place then he can put up more of a challenge to Bolt, doubt he can beat him but he can at least come close.

Yeah was a good program. From all those technique videos and such its clear Johnson had perfected the 200, but Bolt has such a long way to go to perfect the 100. Wouldn't suprise me if in a year or 2 Bolt was getting close to the 9sec dead mark.

Bolt has apparently said that he expects to run a "very fast time" on Wednesday in Daegu and when he was asked how low he thinks he could take the record he said "No one knows their limit".

:D :D

Can't wait for Wednesday now!

i saw it advertised but didn't watch it at the time thinking i could watch it later on iplayer. but it's not available. :p

As part of it they showed his starts and in that first phase his legs are all over the shop! My understanding of it was that he's wasting energy keeping himself pointing in the right direction rather than simply driving forward.

Thing with Bolt, every time he breaks a record, it looks like he's out for a stroll, probably just breaking them casually for the £ :p

I'm expecting something impressive from Bolt on Wednesday...

"It's my first time in South Korea so I'll do my best and, hopefully, break the meeting record," said Bolt.

"I need to know where I'm at, so I'll be going out there and putting my all into it. It will be a very fast time."

Can't wait, I think he might even break his WR. Heard it here first!
