IN STOCK NOW ASUS MATRIX 5870 PLATINUM FOR £408.99 inc VAT

And people said the 5830 was pointless? :p

If any of these sell I'll be amazed, it's clearly an amazing card, but anyone who'd spending over £400 on a graphics card and doesn't push to a 5970 must be pretty mad!

If the 5830 was £170, and this posh 5870 was £360 they'd fit in the range so much better.

Haven't lol'd so hard all week. xD

Well the 5830 can be had for less than £165 now.

Some nice tweaks to be had with this card over a standard 5870 like being able to adjust memory timings is pretty cool but anyway still at £400 :S looks like my 5870 will last till the next refresh

it doesn't use a standard cooler its been designed very well infact under there is this:

Using this design it runs at least 13 degrees cooler than a ref design.

it also auto overclocks itself while in game and the power is needed, add to that the fact u can tweak the memory timings too i think its an awesome card and considering they designed it to be the best 5870 there is i think they have done a good job, it has already gone past 1525 on LN2. Also for info it does support Eyefinity it comes with a HDMI to DVI dongle.

It looks like a contender for modding into a single slot card - it hasn't got the second DVI port, although I don't know whether the little reset button might pose a problem...

It is a very nice card, should be cheaper but I can see this card going into the machines of people who want a bit of style in their system to, rather than the usual majority who want the best components without looking at how everything is.

Cooler is very similar to reference? I see one more heatpipe compared to the reference cooler:

Autoclocking - is this dynamic or 2d/3d clocks? Because all cards do the latter.

can get a GTX480 for a extra 30 odd pound put it like that, I ll take the HD5970 me thinks

Reading that guru review sorry but this much more money for what a few fps more not worth it imo and people would be better off getting the normal version and buying some games to use on it.
