the title sould have said "wow a gtx480 for less then £400"... oops

Think the point being made is the 480 being close to 5970 performance. I think that's kinda been knocked on the head though.

Just to keep the Nvidia crowd happy: Yes, you have the single fastest GPU.

Now for the rest of us; the 5970 still beats it by a decent margin in most titles. Nothing to see here, move along.
 
I think the title meant try finding the fastest card on the planet for less than £400
