Hi All

I have a 24" widescreen monitor that i use for everything, works well and i have no issues with it. However im pondering using the 19" telly i have to watch streaming tv (sky player etc).

So i connected the TV to my computer via the HDMI socket on my 5750 and got the res/picture working OK.

I downloaded UltraMon to make it a bit easier but there are a couple of things annoying me.

When i maximise Sky Player for instance on the telly, as soon as i click on anything on my monitor it reverts the sky player window to normal size. Nothing i do can keep that screen maximised? (Using the 'Fullscreen' icon when on sky player page)

Secondly some programs/windows no matter what i try will not open on the monitor, and always open on the PC> Even if i use the 'move to screen' that UltraMon gives.

I basically want EVERYTHING other than the one sky player window to open on my Monitor and i want the sky player to be maximised. It seems simple but for my first foray into trying this, didnt work :(

Any ideas/suggestions?

Scott

What OS you using?
In W7 (can't remember off hand about vista) you need to set the monitor as main display. If you do have W7, you can run sky player on MC through the tv and you should get full screen. You can also use the keyboard shortcut- 'win key' and 'shift' and then 'left' or 'right' arrow keys to switch the windows to each screen.

Hi

Im using Win7, and the Monitor was set as the main display that part seems to work OK. Not sure what you mean by "run sky player on MC". Stupid question i know but i have no idea what MC is :(

Ah OK, thanks it makes sense now.

I didnt know about that, time to tinker!

Hmm, is it best to use extended display then?

In your case yes, although if running Wmc in full screen, you won't be able to use the desktop with the monitor for e.g surfing(you would have to stretch Wmc window NOT maximise it if you want to use both displays at the same time as watching something through wmc).
Another example of what you can do is: with speakers on default, install mediaplayer classic(mpc), go into the settings of mpc and change the sound to 'input through hdmi'. This lets you watch movies on the tv with just the tv out putting the sound through hdmi while you could also listen to say streaming music/football commentary on the other monitor using the default speakers.

Thanks for the Input.

I managed to get it to full screen WMC on the TV, with sound via that and also able to play my fav game full screen on the monitor.

Seems to be working OK so far....

I stuck a Hauppage 1300 DVB card in there as well, so im just tweaking with that now :)

Im going to try it on a 15" monitor as well, the TV is fine but im sure it flickers a little bit so going to try a different output to see which doesnt hurt my eyes as much!

It seems i can watch full screen SkyPlayer on the TV and use my Main Monitor, however when i try and watch full screen Digital TV i cant get the mouse back to the main monitor.

How frustrating.
