Don't be an eejit, that includes all of the development costs so the actual cost per bus will be a lot lower than that...

Almost anything is very expensive for the first few units done as you've got to do all the design and testing work, but as more are made the average price drops
The chances are the next 10 after that will cost less than the first 5, and the price will drop considerably per unit after that especially if other countries/cities order them

IIRC a full sized bus or coach based on an existing design can cost £100K+ which sort of puts things in perspective, as they are not cheap items and are built to last.

I quite like the look of the new route masters.

Easily, for a semi decent brand new coach you're generally looking at around £250,000. My customers used to call them mortgages on wheels.

They're selling them to Brighton gradually, we have four so far.

I like the hop-on hop-off, the styling needs to be toned back a notch though, it'll age quickly like that.

And? This is London. There are hundreds of buses and no doubt they'll buy a few dozen of routemasters to replace current ones.

They were dropped from the design due to costs and only infrequently used by the drivers.

I imagine the middle doors will be the same as other buses with easy access and a space by the stairs for wheelchairs.
