Formula do very good brakes also - don't jump to conclusions yet.
Hope aswell - very good brakes.
Have a look around - What's your budget?

Wouldnt touch Formula with a barge pole. They're fiddly to setup, extremely difficult to get spares for and that includes the bleed kit, which you'll need if you plan on shortening the hoses. And if you can get hold of it, it costs a fortune.

Went for a ride round a local track. Started with 30psi in the UST tyres and kept lowering it round the trail. I must be running about 25psi now and they are starting to feel better. The Mountain King 2.4 UST is nothing like the Black Chilli version. Nowhere near as much grip and bouncing off rocks all over the place. New tyres me thinks! :(

Pic of a pals slightly unusual Superlight build. 140mm Talas. 2.5" tyres. Dual ring bash gaurd.

They're just the standard Hope colours though, iirc all their bits are anodized and you can't really anodize white so I doubt you'll get anywhere in that respect.

Good luck though.

Thinking of picking up one of these: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?PartnerID=79&ModelID=49246
Though they don't make it in white (Bit stupid really...), messaged Hope seeing if they could sort one out but not holding my breath :(
Much to my dismay - Hope don't do White :( for this very reason....

Pity really :(

just done my first commute and apart from a bit of stopping to fettle with the seat post and realign the rear wheel (QR not done up tight enough) i'm pretty pleased with it :)

Might have to park a little further away next time (i live about another 15 miles further away so driving part way)

Don't park further away, just add a loop of Richmond Park.

i parked at the racecourse this morning for ease so might try and find some free parking a little further out, but a loop of the park is a good idea, should be able to get a bit of speed up on there as well.

Wanted to hammer it through Bushy Park but that was when I was having problems with the wheel. Maybe on the way back :)

indeedy :) & you are?

Oddly enough I'm Asprilla over there as well. Aslo posting there are:

oddjob62 - oddjob62
Rafster - London Bairn
Sarajoy - Sara

There are undoubtably others. You should join the commuting stats table (http://www.startfarm.co.uk/aspStats/); many, including me, find it very motivational to add more miles or just to cycle more in general.
