More GeForce GTX 465 Details Surface

going by them spec's it probably be between 5830 and 5850 (being closer to the later) so i good price would be £200 (given current 5850 prices) but it probably be 10%+ more making it not worth it but we see :)

These super crippled salvage cards are laughable in this generation, a 5830 or GTX465 at anywhere near £200 is just ridiculous , they should both be £125 tops in my opinion.

The 5770 is £120 and there are many cases where the 5830 does a lot better than the 5770.

£150 is reasonable.

The 5770 can be had for 100inc if you look hard enough :)

Nice that's about right imo even taking into account the crappy prices all around. Considering that it's not much of an upgrade over the 4850 (my old card) which could be had for £100 in 2008, anything over £100 is too much imo.

One thing I would like to raise is that 3206/4 = 801.5Mhz

That would be a wierd real memory chip frequency which makes me a little suspicious.

I'm sorry but the 5770 destroys the 4850 especially at higher resolutions while consuming less power and being quiter.

Again weaker pound and more expensive componants explains the rest.

Well you're obviously entitled to your opinion, but there have been many threads here asking whether 4850>5770 is a worthwhile upgrade and the vast majority think it's a waste of time. Yes it is a bit faster, but the 4850 could be bought cheaper 2 1/2 years ago. That makes the 5770 pricing quite depressing.

There is at least a 20% performance gain and at higher resolutions and different games that goes up a LOT.

That was with release drivers.

Well the 4870 is faster than the 5770 in every benchmark i have ever seen and that was 20-25% faster than the 4850, so i think to say that the 5770 has 'at least' a 20% lead is optimistic. Of course there are some games that have a 20%+ margin (like Far Cry 2), but there are other games where the difference is only a few fps even at high resolutions (Battleforge).

Again the 5770 costs 20% more than a 4850 did 2.5 years ago, i fail to see how it is priced well. At £100 it is an acceptable price considering the generally crappy climate, but £120+ is just too much, 2.5 years is a LONG time in the graphics world.

A 4850 could not be had for 100 2.5 years ago. In fact it wasn't even released 2 years ago.

Sorry you're right, it was almost 2 years ago, for some reason i was thinking it was released early 2008, not summer. Still my point stands, it will be 2 years old in July, and that is a hell of a long time in graphics.

If the 5770 was 20% faster at £100 then that would be just about acceptable imo, as you would expect a 20% speed increase at any price point over 2 years at the absolute minimum. At 20% faster and 20% more expensive you are getting absolutely nothing over a 2 year old card, see my point?

Except ofc the much lower power consumption, quiter and better scaling with ocing or crossfiring.
