Anyone else annoyed by the popularity of the word "frequented"?

As far as I can make out, it means frequently visited.

Seems the BBC are using the word now too, doesnt really make sense though does it....

Don't get why the op would have a problem with the word 'frequented' other than it's redundant considering the word 'regularly' is already there.

I use the word 'frequent' to replace regularly since, depends how i word the sentence.
