Apart from going round and caving her head in, what else can i do??

Really startin to get on my nerves now...

to be fair i normally recommend a posted poo in every single thread like this but i think thats going overboard in this thread. they might not even realise how loud they are being. they might hear every word and movement you make too !

First step: ask them.

If they continue, proceed to step two: call the police.

If they still continue, begin on a daily basis to record all of the noise (getting other neighbours to do so too if possible) and then contact environmental health.

you should have a council noise patrol. one of the good things that labour did was clamp down on this kind of activity.

i had a similar issue and after soeaking to them had to call the council and problem solved.

if they are tennants then the landlord will get a letter if it goes on and is liable.

edit: sorry just reliased that you live in scotland. just read on the dumfires website that you need to speak to your landlord.

When we had an issue, we rang the local councils noise service. They gave us a log number and started by sending the noisy buggers a letter.

Luckily that worked for us - unless the neighbour on the other side, finally snapped and buried them under his new decking area...

Complaints about excessive noise are investigated by the Council who can take action if the noise is considered to be a statutory nuisance.

In Dumfries and Galloway the teams will be working to control noisy neighbours from:

•7.00pm to 7.00am on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays
•between 5.00pm and 7.00am on a Sunday.

Their contact telephone number is 0845 600 5701

Lol silver, wouldn't fit in house tho.

Read about the noise team, but it's not Thursday yet :/

My landlord has went bankrupt, still waiting to hear what's happening with us and house, so hopefully a move (4 in a 2 bed is crampy)

This has been goin on for months, nearly every night, at all hours. Spoke to her about it, she said just to knock on wall, she turns it back up 5 mins later or is too out her face and just leaves music blaring. (ie last night)

We are incredibly quiet, our kids in bed by 7 and we are out all day. Has just got to the point the wife is fed up of it waking youngest up, I hardly get any sleep.

Ring the local council and if that fails do what I did a while back when next doors kids decided to play there instruments loud. Find something which will make more noise :D

I used to have a neighbour whose unemployed 30-something year old daughter would rant and rave at home every week day from 9am-1pm, until her Dad got back from work. She would shout and scream about anything and everything that was annoying her at that time, from having poor paid holiday to having to do all the washing up.

The person in the terrace on the other side of their house went round to complain one day, and the Dad apparently said 'If you ever mention it again, I'll punch you on the nose'! I think she had mental issues, but it was very annoying having to wear ear plugs just so I could concentrate enough to study in my own home.

The council weren't interested as it a) wasn't in peace hours and b) wasn't considered intrusive enough as it was just her voice.

Nothing was ever done and she just kept on shouting away. I suppose she's still there shouting now!
