I had never really heard of this happening until I bought some Sony MDRV700 headphones from 'the rainforrest store' using another seller. I read reviews and even posted info with pictures on youtube to find out if they were fake or not because they came in different packaging and had things like thailand stamped on them.

After emailing Sony I found that Sony had a new manufacturing warehouse in Thailand where they were made.

I recently paid just £20 for some Sennheiser CX500 earphones. I have read that some people that pay this much sometimes end up with fakes (one person even from the same seller)

Has anyone ever received fake goods from authentic websites?

Thread title is misleading..

You're not buying from an authentic seller, you'll buying from joe bloggs who lists his fake items on their site.

I never buy memory sticks or earphones from a 3rd party seller, they're always fake

Check this thread for 'real' fake goods from an authentic website!

-make sure you check out the hitler video after :D

Reseller != authentic website.

If you are buying from anyone other than the actual site then I would expect the worst.

We bought some GHD's from a website which looked very legitimate, they died 3 months later and then we found out they were fake :mad:

You straighten your hair?

The thing is they are the same price on anther website, jersey 4 letter store. I'll just have to check them to make sure I suppose

Had this with fake DVD's from a marketplace seller on the same site, sent them an email saying they had sold fake goods, asked for money back and got it back same day without having to send anything back. This was a seller that did a lot of business on that site though so i think they may not have wanted to be removed from it for selling counterfeit goods.

Had the same thing on there from a third party seller. Asked for a refund and was ignored. E-mailed the rainforest store directly and had a refund in about 2 weeks.

I think you need to learn the difference between "authentic website" and "random guy selling on authentic website's marketplace".

You might as well be assuming everything on eBay is genuine because it is an authentic, well known website.

I received a fake game (copy of Rome Total War) that I only found out when a new patch came out and it no longer worked. I just contacted and they replaced within a few days.

The seller i bought off has about 180 feedback, most is excellent but there are the odd couple of people who sound like they received fakes. Im sure if i have a problem an email to the main site will sort it
