Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

Hmmm, Abel does actually seem a lot stronger in SSFIV, i can't believe i didn't notice the differences before.

ggs Tony, i must be getting better as iirc last time we played you beat me with every character, at least this time i got a few wins in :). The Ibuki vs Guy match was especially fun. Sorry if i was a little repetitive, i'm not dexterous enough to pull off the complicated combos reliably yet so can't help but stick to the basic stuff.

Oh and, i love the TE round 2 stick (which arrived today).

that match was fun, running left and right :D I'm pretty sure you Guy is better than mine, for some reason I couldn't get his target combo to connect. Starting to makoto

starting to use guy for a bit.

i cant seem to pull off his target combo under pressure, probably because i pressed the buttons too fast and lack practice.

but i really like his ultra 2, to me its like zangief or t hawk's throw with less range but without having to jump or dash or similar to buffer it (so i can do it almost without any notice). although its dodgy input increased my chance of screwing up the command

Just had an online session with Gootecks :)

He's got one mean Balrog and Guile!

Managed to take a round off him, but that's all, he's very solid and thinks way more about the game, his strategies were on another level.

He was really helpful giving tips on what i should do and general street fighter stuff.

I just hope he uploads the videos where i played well :)

Can anyone do a vid for me of the motions they do to successfully do a FADC into Ultra move on a stick? I just cant get it into my head and I swear my fingers are just too slow (just dont know how quickly you need to do the Ultra move after the DC)...

The real basic questions I have are:

Can you FADC out of particular moves (and their strengths) - so you cant FADC out of a l.dp but can out of a h.dp - Ive assumed its anything that hits more than once as a default so all EX moves?

Is there any point using it outside of ending with an Ultra? Ive seen some people go into an EX move instead - surely thats just a waste of Super bar and so more for flair than anything?

I presume FADC can be incorporated into any combo that finishes on a move that can be FADCed out of - is it worthwhile considering the damage scaling?

Soz for the vague request/questions - trying to get into SSF4 and though this is still way advanced for me I want to check if Im doing anything wrong technique wise that I can fundamentally fix now than later. Think though its probably something to start learning once safe jumps and option selects are a standard thing for me...

The motions are just as you'd expect - any vids ppl put up for you will be just that, except with a lot of 'extra' unnecessary inputs.

You can FADC out of a huge number of moves - loads of normals, most specials. not sure what the rule is, but its easy to try and find out. You can FADC out of all dragon punches, you cant FADC any of Ryu's hurricane kicks (EX or not).

Outside of Ultra, use with another move that juggles (EX move in your example) just for the extra damage. If you find it tough to get an opportunity to damage your opponent, or if you have 'too much meter', and you want to make the most of it when you do, then there's no big problem wth doing that, assuming you dont need the spare EX meter to escape on wakeup, etc. Can be used to finish the round, or almost finish it, and put the pressure on opponent to avoid the chip damage that ends the round.
Also, if you are being pressured and you feel like throwing out a dragon punch to get them off you, if they see if coming, it will get blocked and you will be on the receiving end of a big combo. So FADC that dragon punch, and if it got blocked, you will be safe.

Generally, dont FADC out of moves for no reason - waste of meter. No point in dp - FADC EX fireball when you're both at 100% health, imo. Save the meter for when it's more important, eg one of the reasons listed above.

LOL that vid reminds me of Open University programmes - wow I need to see that in slow motion - my eyes let alone my fingers cant do it that fast...

There seems to be so many people using the same characters online, I've come across 1 Zangief, 1 T.Hawk, 1 DeeJay, a few decent Guy & Guile players, 1 or 2 Adon and the rest have all been Ryu, Ken and Akuma. Thats after i've just achieved 100 matches.

I might try to learn Guy, he seems a tough character to beat when someone knows what they're doing.

I scanned the replays channel the other night looking for Makoto matches, there's hardly any, in several hundred replays I think I got maybe 10 Makoto's and only 2 of those won :o You start to see patterns in all the faces going past with lots just not there.

Guile is great in this game. Just great.

yeah he does a lot of damage now and his sonic boom is even more annoying than before. Margaret kicked my ass quite bad with him today...the only time i won was when he made some very strange mistakes against my chun li. my guy and cody seems clueless against guile, whatever i tried failed, apart from tick throw. these final fight bad boys have almost no decent reversal moves or moves that is decent on the back foot. i can see why they are low tier characters. and what happened to akuma's ultra...it used to go though fireballs from close range, but it didnt work when i did it, i neither got sonic boom in the face or worst ultra 2 in the face.

Artheas, looks like our internet or router wont let us play each other now...reseting the router worked when i couldnt connect to Margaret, but it didnt work to connect to you. looks like one or both of us need a new router!

btw how to check the port settings correct anyway? and what is the correct settings? i am a complete noob when it comes the internet and networking.
