Second hand snapon on ebay, I've got some mega bargains from it.
i broke my ratchet lastnight![]()
ive had it for years. stupidly i was using it has a hammer, against a breaker bar, shocking a stubborn bolt out where i only had limited space. the anti/clockwise selector popped off so now its locked in both directions
RIP my big ratchet

i dont think it was "pro" range but it was a lot of money
they dont do a good 3/8 set other than that
I have broken a few tools, but from misuse, hammering a ratchet instead of using a breaker bar, impacting a deep socket with a BFO hammer that split it, and a couple of the extension tubes with the pin style end. Had them all replaced no problems.
As for the Snap On van coming around once a week, what happens if you break a tool on Friday and he doesnt come until next Thursday? Phone him up to make a special trip for you? Seems just as much hassle to me and your a captive market in the garage for him!
ive already got a perfectly acceptable 1/4 set (6 side) and 1/2 set (6 side) so i want a middle sized 12 side set to fill the gap and those funny times you need a 12 sider.
here is the only 3/8 set they do

almost nothing for your £45
definately a lot better off with the clarke set
Mostly they don't break because I don't misuse them but yea, if I'm really desperate for a tool then you can indeed ring him up and he'll bring it over for you.
On the whole though that doesn't happen as there are more than enough tools to go around with 5 tool chests full here.![]()
Ideally you want a 6 sided 3/8" set as this will be your main set.
1/4" drive is for all the fiddly stuff 10mm and below
1/2" are for tractors![]()
