Hi guys,
I like cats, I really do, but cant keep one at home.

Which I would hope means I didnt have to clean up their crap, not the case!!

Me and the gf have recently moved into a rented house, but unfortunatly out back is a lot of gravel, which the neighbourhood cats seem to treat as a giant litter tray!

Is there any way to keep these little gits from fowling in our garden?

Water pistol isnt really an option as it would involve me being on guard which isnt ideal, Im looking for a hands off but effective, and also cost effective solution.

Any ideas? :)

To be honest I've never found anything chemical based etc that really works.

I have a cat, but the other 8 cats in the cul-de-sac cack where they want on mine and all the other neighbours lawns, flower beds etc etc. Nothing is sacred and once one of them goes there, the others are SURE to follow!

Water does work well, but it has to be consistent. e.g soak once = might try again later. Soak repeatedly every darn day for a week = will try elsewhere! Sadly I don't have the time to sit with a supersoaker waiting to soak 7 darn cats every day. I'd have naff all time for anything else!

I would love to tarmac but its rented so cant really :/

also like the idea of claymores.... but I feel this is slightly excessive

I have heard about this alpha predator urine etc.... may be a good idea?

I had the bloody neighbourhood cats pooping in my flower beds fishing in my pond. I stopped it by mixing large pieces of ground pepper into the bark and flower beds. Also stuck the water bottles all around the place and the cats have not been back for months

If you ever find it mid-lay, drop a brick on its head. My dad found one in our garden in this situation and walked over to it, it sat there in the same position with a look of terror on its face.
