New TV Time, which panasonic to get?

how are are the panasonic 42 G20's roughly. Looking to upgrade my aging 10 year old tv in the lounge and i had no clue what to get but this thread is steeing me towards the G20.

My lounge isnt very big and i dont want the tv to be the focal point of the room and so the choices really were a 40 or 42 inch. It will mainly be for xbox360 gaming and the odd movie which i want to stream from my pc in another room but that should be pretty easy to figure out.

thanks, just checked out the reviews and it seems like a top class tv. Cheapest i could find online was about £809 inc. vat. Is this a good price to be paying?

Does seem a little more than i would like to spend on a tv but it seems that you are paying for quality. Just in case does anyone have any alternative 42" models they can suggest that offer similar (or very slightly less) than the G20 that might be a bit cheaper?

Thanks a lot for your help guys as i am really clueless about tvs. My current tv in the lounge is an old 32" 4:3. Needless to say most of my tv and movie watching is done on my 24" lcd monitor which is a bit sad.

The only similar to a G20 is a G10, but it has more of a backlight issue after 1000 hours. Just go for the G20, otherwise you'll go aroundin circles forever.

And not to sound like your mum, but put some effort into researching yourself, there are tons of TV sites that are a mere Google away, and yo uwill find lots of compairons and reviews. Can't have it all on a palte, and it will benefiit you in the long run as your knowledge increases.
