Cooper S - three months on.

Qashqai :(

Should've got a Clubman :p

No, no I shouldn't, not after the JCW it wouldn't have been right, even a JCW Clubman plus they ming. They are also not very roomy and a bugger to put a baby seat in and out of. When she can climb in and out on her own then I'll get another JCW but until then I need a usable boot and 4 usable doors.

Still miss her though

Is it a massive baby or something, didnt it fit in your hatchback?

It's a baby, it comes with peripherals (pram, changing bag, mother in law, kitchen sink, etc.). We're a one car family, take baby to shopping centre with stuff and we'd have room to bringing back a greetings card and a quarter of jelly babies and thats if we left the child behind. It's a compromise, I hated making but I'm getting used to it.

And putting a baby seat in the back on a 3 door in a parking space requires balance and strength only members of the Russian State Circus possess.

Can't wait for Fox's post 'Mrs. wants a house, kids, and marriage; got to sell the Bimmer for a 1.6 Ford C-Max :('.

I cant wait for fox's change in posting style when he grows up a bit more and has children.

Will be just like the change from his opinion that the xantia TD was the most awesome car ever ;)

Yeah, I wouldn't mind losing the sub in the boot though, hence the retrofit HK idea. :)

My bro has one amp running the four speakers in his Mini, 6x9s running the low frequencies in the back, and 6 1/2s in the front. It sounds like he has a big sub in the back. Very very bassy, and a great sound. I wouldn't bother looking at the HK system as it's supposed to be quite expensive isn't it?

Sounds a lot like the setup I had in my last Mini, Genesis 6x9 subs?

I've got a set of Infinity 6x9s to replace the standard ones, should get them fitted along with some dynamat and closed cell foam this weekend. I'll leave the fronts till I get back from hols but will probably just get some half decent front components, not gonna go over the top.

Will report back how much better the Infinities are next week.

I have no idea why I am having to justify myself in someone elses thread when all I said was I miss my MINI

but here we go

It is not impossible to run a MINI if you have a small child but it is very very hard to find buggys that fit ( I believe there are 2 or 3 which will fit but they are town buggies not full travel systems) and to get all the other things a baby needs in the small boot is hard work and not ideal. If we were to take our baby to Bluewater to buy something more than a few inches square we would have to think very carefully if we could both go or someone had to stay at home with baby. Car seats will fit in a 3 door hatch but we are both tall and bending into the back of a car to secure a car seat is not impossible but when you have a load of shoping it isn't easy.

We regularly travel down to Wales from Kent to see family and will have to take a lot of gear in addition to the usual day kit, the MINI would not have been feisable for this so it had to go. As a second car it would have been fine but we don't need a second car so we don't have one.

I think I've covered everything, you might want to get back on topic now
