I am wanting to learn about engine mapping, specifically MegaSquirt or OMEX and was wondering if anyone could forward me to any sites or books where this could be made possible? :D

Worth an ask I guess.

I'm no expert but I imagine a good place to start is on the principle of engine mapping for different engine types and what exactly it is you are doing for gains.

After that you can look at a specific vendor and how they achieve it?

You might already know all this in which case I would not know where to start looking for such info on Megasquirt/OMEX :D

Yeah, I have a megasquirt unit and a test board simulator - just waiting on the DB9->VGA cable to arrive and then I can have a play :p

Hopefully this will help me out - just trying to find some tutorials etc.

my car runs on megasquirt, and has done for the past ~3 years.

Megamanual is a good resource. I also read this book on it before i set it all up;

Engine Management: Optimising Carburettors, Fuel Injection and Ignition Systems (Haynes High-performance Tuning) (Hardcover) - Dave Walker

I had another one, but i dont have it to hand and can't recall the title.

Thanks for the help. What car are you running on?

it's a Fiat Cinquecento that has a Fiat Stilo engine in it, but previously it was running a Punto engine.

Using wasted spark, and a pretty standard 60:2 bosch trigger wheel.

i run my 306 on megasquirt to be honest it is pretty simple once you get your head around it. what sort of info are you looking for?
the most needed device is a wideband lambda and there are a few available even diy ones which seem pretty good are on the market for a good price from http://14point7.com/

Everything really - from the basics upwards. I have been invited to shadow a guy at Northampton Motorsport when I am ready so want to get clued up on it before I go there. I am completely new to EFI and Engine Mapping and know very little about it.

get dave walkers book it gives you a good basic insight into mapping and the principles behind it.
i would read that first then tackle the mega manual everything will seem a hell of a lot clearer as the megamanual tends to just tell you what each setting does etc and how to set them up to suit your car, not the principles behind it.
however it has been a long time since i played with mine so the manual may be better now i have dialed in a map i am happy with and have my car running well and have not touched it for a year or more.
