Cancelled Thailand trip issues

Can only agree with above. Which shopping center got set alight? Tell me it wasn't MBK I have to pick a ring up from there in little over a weeks time

Thank god for that! From what I understand wasn't MBK just outside the trouble spot.. SIAM got shut didn't it ?

Also Seek since you live there , can you suggest any nice hotels in Thailand for maybe about 50GBP or 2000 -2500 Bhat a night. I've only ever stopped in Ko San Road Area and I don't think my other half would like it there! In fact come to think of it , which over areas of BK are worth staying in ?

OP sorry for going off topic

Yeah the Siam Paragon was closed and customers redirrected to MBK.

I don't live there now. I lived in BKK for a few months last year, and I recently got back from a holiday there about a week ago.

You only looking to stay in Bangkok? There are much nicer places to take a girl in Thailand than BKK!

Ha ha I know that Seek , BK>phuket>Phi Phi >Krabi>BK>Taiwan:)

I'm fine with the islands and the like , find somewhere easy enough. Just BK big place hot etc etc with a girl who will no doubt moan and we'll end up settling for either a **** hole in BK or a mega expensive one. So I was thinking about booking in advance for the last part of BK to save the hassle since we'll be flying back to her home country a few days after that:cool:

Almost identical to my own last trip. I did that except we missed out Krabi and also went east (Koh Sammet).

Anyway, can't really help with hotels in BKK I'm afraid - Personally I stayed in an apartment in Prahkanong - £70 a month! :D Was pretty nice too.

This place is pretty nice:

(Technically a hostel, but they have private rooms)

A bit off Khaosan road though, so maybe not in the area you want to stay.

You shouldn't have cancelled it, Bangkok is rubbish in comparison to the islands of south Thailand.

I wouldn't cancel either, I'm planning on going in July, But know that there is serious risk involved, accidentally getting stuck in crossfire - in a country which you've never been to before - should never be on your holiday list;

Sunbathing,
Tourism,
Shopping,
Photography,
Getting stuck in crossfire,

Its not really like that though, its like getting into Heathrow, then going to canary wharf where there is crossfire. You just wouldn't bother.

Now we got some travel insurance for this trip specifically, and as the trip is not due to start until saturday and has been cancelled, can i get the money back for this aswell?

Think theres any chance of getting the insurance refunded aswell then?
