"Eight Legged Freaks" Baby Spider Army is coming for you...

My car is covered in these little blighters, scooped some into a glass to get some shots. Taken with the 50mm f1.8 and tubes. Next lens is a macro lens!!!

These really are tiny, you can see how small they are in comparison to a jumping spider here (I think they were going to ambush him ;) ):

What did you do with the spiders in the end? Had a one living in my car roof for months. just couldnt get rid of it.

Being a kind soul and feeling a bit sorry for them in their attempts to get out of the glass, I put them back :)

My wife really has a serious phobia, when she got in she saw the glass on the side and actually asked "oh, have we had a spider in the house?". "Actually" I said, "there was more than one", then showed the pictures... I quickly explained they were outside before she started crying!

Mate, just looking at the pictures on my monitor is making me cry!

Nice close ups - very realistic - and i should know im now furiously wiping invisible spiders off my shoulders!

I like the way the look like they are marching forwards....do you have a mirror bhind the glass or is the glass creating a reflection from behind? I notice that some have the black stripe and others dont...?

Curious if anyone has any experince with a similar shot but using a mirror to capture the background of the spider/insect? If this shot was to be performed, what settings would you use and if there was not sufficient lighting, how would you compbat the flash reflection?

(i only have a Nikon D5000 with no special kit but would like to attempt a mirror shot like this....maybe swap the spider for a ladybug though!)

They were just in a glass, they were making a vertical column trying to get out. Most amusing, they very determined in trying to escape!

I really should learn about other people and spiders. When I was about 9 I dangled a spider from a cricket bat onto my Dad who was sun bathing.... Quick as a flash my (very unhappy) Dad now has the cricket bat and I'm running for my life round the garden! Much pain :(

Every single one of those babies is one of these big boys :)

Really.

Great isn't it :D We do live by fields and a brook so plenty of room. They're now also all over our back gate which is worrying the wife! :D
