woop had letter come through today so its all official! after busting my gut at uni for 3 years i found myself working in a bookies for the past 18 months not exactly where i aspired to be, but its paid off and ive now been offered a normal weekday 9-5 job.

shame ive gota give 4 weeks notice though... which im not looking forward to giving, our area manager is one scary dude :D

Well done and good luck nothing likle a good 9-5job. Makes getting up in the mornings a bit less of a struggle.

A months notice in a bookies? Just do one - when I left the world of retail i gave two days notice

I wouldn't just do one, as that could tarnish your record there. Work your notice but speak to your manager and see if you can come to a compromise about your notice. Well done.

i work for coral bookies, and the job doesnt start til next month so i really dont mind working a month in hand, plus like the above guy pointed out, it wont tarnish my record and my area manager wont be able to say a bad word about me :) plus id rather give a months notice to help my manager out rather than droping her in it, should give them time to replace me...

i will become an Executive Officer, sounds important doesnt it :p

Almost as stupid as my new job title of 'Senior Engineer', of which I am neither. :p

I hate job titles these days, why don't they like, describe the job people do anymore.
