My Jaguar XJR V8

Exxxxxxxxxxxxxxcellent :D ...tis nice to see someone buy a 'proper' car. I love the X308, especially the Supercharged one. I commented on yours in the Show us Your Motors thread, as I saw it there before I saw this thread.

As I said there, looks like it could do with a damn good polish and wax etc. I didn't realise you had just had it and had some rust to take care of though. Puts you in the same boat as me then, only I hope your car needs rather less attention than mine.

Bargain barges! ...sometimes they are all things to all men, other times they are an expensive lesson in why they are cheap to buy :p
 
I had a 4.0 non S/c Sovereign - it was very thirsty and not very fast!

Also had a Daimler Super V8 - Now that is a fantastic machine!

The latter was my second choice actually... there was a nice one the bay iu was eyeing up!
 
Nice car but alarm bells would ring with me I'm afriad, Its nearly £2k under priced. Any knocks or bumps? Can you hear the supercharger whining away? :D
I wouldnt worry to much about the engine and linings with 130k on it though, if it hasnt gone by now, it never will.
Have you checked if the tensioners have been done also the water pumps are sometimes a problem on the older X308's these both can cause nasty problems as you can imagen.
Looks like it still has the factory P-Zero Asimmetrico's on which is nice to see, the previous owner at least knows some-thing about them, but beware in this size they're not cheap rubber.
Give it a bit of detailing and come back with some better photos, it would be nice to she how she scrubs up ;)
 
One of the best cars ever in my opinion! Does it have cruise? That's another reason the 2000MY commands more - cruise is standard. Around 50% of the 98-99's don't have it! Whilst many people can live without parking sensors or rain sensitive wipers, cruise control is a deal breaker for them, includng me!

Owned a 1998 4.0 non s/c last year and absolutely loved it.

it does have cruise but not the others :)

Set it on the drive back from Scarborough where I picked it up and the car was whisper quiet.. amazing.

No you are right t's not high miles, but it scares off people who are considering an XJR. this is actually the youngest car I've ever owned!
