Just minimise and restore the game, it's been an issue in all source games and can be fixed easily (either tabbing out or changing a gfx setting then changing it back)

just go in console type mat_specular 1 then change it back to 0.

Update sounds interesting, played css on and off for around 10 years. The only thing that stops me from playing it these days is the amount of cheaters and the fact I'm on BC2 for my pc multiplayer fix recently.

Come on valve, sort out your cheat detection!

man cs from beta was ownage but as soon as that css pap came out it was ok for like 5 minutes but then ****

i wanna try this. hopefully it will get me into css again. Used to have my own server running in the house. Got a group of people on hamachi to play together (less laggy) and was amazing fun.

Isn't this just like Half Life Source, ie an engine swap? Seems like the most dull and boring update of all time.

Seems they have sorted out the movement issues since i last tried it, much better in my opinion

Looking forward to these changes..

I used to run a CSS community a year ago.. and many people stopped playing due to getting bored.

Hopefully this will resurrect interest in the game!

Liking the client side stats too..

Don't see why people moan... I played CS (Beta through to 1.5, started sometime in late 99 iirc) then switched to source without issue. Stopped playing source about a year ago after the clan folded.. didn't intend to play again but might have a crack now

Some people just can't move with the times, the competitive 1.6 ladders and tournaments are still out there.. so play them if you want.. stop slagging off CSS just because you can't adapt to it straight away.

Bring back 1.6 with updated engine and gfx nothing else and smoke fb fix. thats it. Maybe a taunt button.

We have an OcUK server, hopefully the new update will bring back interest so it gets more use...
