9800GTX > GTX280?

Corsair HX620W PSU < Is that enough?

I did a quick search and it seemed to confirm my first thought - you will be fine :)

Does your version of the HX 620W come with a 8 pin PCIe cables as well as 6 pin ones? If not, have a look here and you can request one (as the GTX 295 needs an 8 pin as well as a 6 pin PCIe power connection).

Then again, isnt the 295 just 2x280s? on one card?

Pretty much, its got a bit less memory per core, a slightly narrower memory bus and marginally marginally lower clockspeeds. However, its core are built on the smaller, newer and cooler 55nm manufacturing process. In terms of performance the GTX 295 sits between a GTX 260 (216 core) SLI and a GTX 275 SLI arrangement.

Glad to hear about the PSU, yeah its got 6 pin, but with another 2 pins hanging off the plugs, so 8 pin.. lol.
Will be upgrading this PSU soon anyway, as shes getting cap squeal and doing my head in!! haha.
Looking at the Corsair HX1000, bit of future proofing :p.

Thats fair enough then.. I think I picked it up for less than the price of 2xGTX260's and I get more performance so its all goooooood! :D.
What kind of temperatures can I expect at idle?
As my current 9800GTX sits at around 61 idle.. lol
Will I see a rather large boost in performance? :D

Runs a little hot I think.. Tested it in Crysis and its max temp was 90 Degrees Celcius..
Fan is also very very loud.
Also (haha), makes loud squeaking noises, like cap squeal :(
Apart from that was an awesome upgrade :)
