Our new car arrived yesterday, had a bit of a play and am quite happy, it's quick enough to embarrass the odd boy racer in his paxo, and comfy enough to eat up the miles with ease.

2.0 TDI (170) with a few extras added on, looking at chipping it up to 200bhp when i can get hold of £445

the electronic hand break is taking a bit of getting used to, i still keep reaching for it!

Can't chip a hire car surely

Plenty of people do, just return it to normal if you can be bothered if you back it at the end of the lease.

well ..... No.

Its a lease car. Its never YOUR car. Its registered to you, but until you buy at the end it remains the property of the company leasing to you.

sorry i wasn't being specific enough..... we will be treating it as ours for the next 3 years. we will be using it for the next three years.

oh and it's not registered to us either, we have no V5 or insurance certificate for that matter!

Not really yours to modify then is it

no technically you are quite correct, however as i will have the facility to unmodify it at will i don't see there being a problem unless i fry the ECU!

Surely it doesn't include insurance unless its a company car?

it is a strange deal, it comes out of my wife's wages direct, so i suppose it is technically a company car, however it comes from a company called lookers leasing..... i don't fully understand it, all i know is it's a new car, we have it for 3 years then can buy or swap it and everything is covered except fuel
