Crikey, you could have got a bank loan for around £15,000 at current rates with the same monthly repayments over 3 years. Probably would have found something similar and owned the car at the end.

That is very true, however i'm avoiding finance on anything, this defeats the object of that but the trouble i had with my SEAT i'm just relieved to have something that's either not going to break or if it does it'll be fixed for me.

(hopefully swapping the 04 focus for a similar age Civic Type R shortly and i'll own that outright)

looked at getting one from VW direct, 3 year plan with no deposit, option to buy at the end, have to tax service and insure myself and it was £550 a month!

after all it is just over £26k of car

It does seem a bit mad to commit to a deal that you 'don't fully understand' though, especially when it means shelling out £440 a month.
 
dont worry i knew where this thread would go before i started it.

if you have a new car your in the wrong,
if you pay too much on finance your wrong,
if you have a car on lease your wrong,
if you live in a city and have a 4x4 your wrong,
if you don't have a propper 4x4 your wrong
etc etc

i'm happy with it, the wife is happy with it and it releases the Focus to be changed into something more exciting

Im also thinking about leasing a car, (infact ive already done all the paper work and been to look at it and fetch it on Tuesday)
 
The trick is to not post any unecessary information, as some of the more anally retentive members will pick up on anything and everything and then begin the cross examination.
 
Makes the car stuff here look cheap thats for sure. £250 a month would get you a Range Rover Sport and your only cost being the fuel :p

£170 for a Kuga to compare.
