Not sure why I'm posting this but I'm excited, lived in Cambridge for years but never been on a punt, tonight I'm off with the girlfriend for a Thai Curry on a chauffeured punt.

Weather should be perfect, off to buy a nice bottle of something cold/sparking on the way home.

I have never been on one despite 20ish years in Cambridge, was going to go in one with the mrs a couple of weeks ago but the weather was a bit pap

You're joking right, a punt is a flat bottomed boat that is propelled with a pole, like a poor mans gondola (wonder what they chances are of you know what a gondola is if you don't know what a punt is).
 
I thought a punt was something you did in a boat, as opposed to a specific kind of boat. Not sure I'd want a curry on one :/
 
While out on the Cam in a punt,
I saw Reverend Spooner in front.
He said: "What a day gay!"
And: "Anchors aweigh!"
And: "Make way for my podding sunt!"

I can't believe you haven't punted HR, tut tut.
 
I've done the Charity Punt Race a couple of times but spent nearly all of my time either drinking beer or swimming in the Cam ;)
