Suggestions for 2.1 speaker systems?

Hi, with a little luck new TV will arrive tomorrow. I don't have room for anything other than a 2 or 2.1 speaker system, or possibly a soundbar.

Any recommendations? The shop I purchased TV from has some Bose systems and I'm currently thinking about one of the Cinemate Series.

Any other suggestions?

Oh - the budget would be around £500

My suggestion would be dont by Bose, they are usually all label. As for 2.1? You can get fantastic 2.1 sound without spending that much if you look at these which cant be beaten for the money imo and wont take up too much space: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-000-AE&groupid=702&catid=22&subcat=173

If you want to use that £500 you described you could go for a seperate amp/ speaker comob from richer sounds or superfi. if thats the case we can give you some pointers but its best to go down and try things yourself. Speakers are very personal things.

As space is a little limited I'd prefer to avoid AV/amps.

Thanks for sugestions. After a bit of research I've decided to get a Q Acoustics TV2. Just bolts to back of TV so has a minimum of wires.
