I am planning on getting the Lancool K62 case and am looking for a good cooler to go with it. I had a look at some of the best coolers out there and I like the look of the Venomous X but the mounting bracket looks quite hard to get hold of (for AM3). The other option was the Noctua NH-D14 but as I only have 1 intake fan at the front do you guys think I will get better temps with a Corsair H50 mounted on the back 120mm intaking cool air outside the case or a Noctua NH-D14 with the 120mm fan exhausting? Thanks

two completely contrasting pieces of advice haha :D You say the Noctua would be better (and it has performed better in tests) but will it be better with only 1 intake fan (140mm) and the default fans that come with it? Thanks

Here are some results. :)

Also, doesn't the K62 have two fans at the top?

my previosu noctua NH-U12P was only slightly better than the H50 i have now by a few degrees. There was no point in me changing. And apparantly the NH-D14 is better than the NH-U12P.

I'm very impressed with my H50 and I don't believe everything I read like some ppl ;) some of these benchmark charts have been proven wrong many times!
On my Q9550 @4Ghz I hit max load temps of 56c.... can't be that bad ehh?

I speak from experience when I say the Noctua is better.:p

But as Nickson said, it's not that the H50 is bad, the Noctua is just better.

The main reason why the H50 is not performing as it should is the stock fan does not have enough Jiggawatts(lol gotta love that word) > lack's air flow+static air pressure compared to the Noctua + two Fan's...

The fan is made by Akasa, now if the Apache or the new Akasa Viper fan had been around. When the H50 was on the drawing board and fitted with one of them as standard fitting, especailly the Viper l think it would have given the Noctua a run for its money.

Legit H50 Review -(scroll down to the last photo and read the section below)

After contacting the engineers at Corsair we were informed that the fan was sourced from well known cooling fan manufacturer Akasa. The model AK174CB-4BLB cooling fan -
