The Tiguan has arrived

dont worry i knew where this thread would go before i started it.

if you have a new car your in the wrong,
if you pay too much on finance your wrong,
if you have a car on lease your wrong,
if you live in a city and have a 4x4 your wrong,
if you don't have a propper 4x4 your wrong
etc etc

i'm happy with it, the wife is happy with it and it releases the Focus to be changed into something more exciting

I think you forgot,

if you buy a VW you are wrong
if you buy something Fox doesn't like you are wrong :D

Rather predictable thread, but the Tiguan actually looks OK to me, at least it has a modicum of performance and MPG for a family wagon..

£440 is for everything but fuel, which is 'ok' for a new car, not sure how hard it is for people to grasp the fact all cars are just ludicrously expensive, there is not really any car in the mainstream over £7.5K that you can't say
1. I could have bought Y number of Citreon Saxo's for that and had change
2. Look on Pistonheads, and for 1/2 that price here's a car twice as old, with twice the running costs and obviously not available on the company car scheme..

You're looking at it from a short-term monthly perspective. £440 a month might not be a *huge* sum on its own but as already explained over the course of the lease with nothing to show for it at the end , it doesn't really end up being that good a deal tbh.

Look at my previous post you can get similar cars for a little over the overall cost of the lease and you can always sell it on to recoup some money.

I'm in no way trying to be condescending or trying to belittle the OP, just trying to put across a different view of the situation.

I suggest you go back to school - 10 posts in a thread with 114 posts is not 'all' the posts in the thread.

never let the facts get in the way of a good joke at your expense :p

If you knew that this was going to be the reaction one wonders why you even bothered to post the thread at all?

People are going to pick up the fact that you are renting a Diesel VW for £16,000 and run with it, because quite frankly it is the only "interesting" thing in the thread :p.

So he pays £430 a month, gets Insurance (excess £0 ?) Road Tax, Services plus any faults paid for in for 3 years then has the option to buy the car?

Dont most cars come with a 3 year warranty, plus how many 3 year old cars breakdown?

Seems like a belt and braces approach for car ownership.

Well thank you all for your comments both constructive and not so.

I am happy with the car and it's a far cry from my Y plate SEAT.

We had a new Focus back in 04 and that was 300 a month on pcp bit we bought the car outright at the end. This one is twice the value and I don't think it's too much personaly as it doesn't break the bank.

It fits our requirement being maintenance free, safe, comfortable and vaguely economical whilst not being painfully slow.

Now I'm off to do some reseacrh on civic type R's to see what I'll have to put to the focus to get a decent 04 one
